Description
So, this is a car that I bought a year ago as something to keep me busy. It had 32k original miles on it and had just had the interior completely redone as you see it now. Since then it's been garaged and driven sparingly on the weekends. I've worked on it here and there in order to improve it's overall condition. So far I've:
- Replaced the engine mounts
- Replaced the transmission mounts
- Replaced both drive line guibos.
- Replaced the differential mount.
- Replaced all fluids including engine oil/filter, power steering oil/filter, transmission oil/filter, and differential oil.
- Adjusted valves (car comes with special tools to do this job as it needs done every 10k)
- Performed Diesel Injector Purge
I didn't track material costs for all of the above, but I'd guess it came to about $1k or so all together. As it is an older car, there are of course more to do though. The factory vacuum driven central locks aren't working, and the rear windows aren't either (although the fronts do), but the A/C doesn't.
It's a peach of a car as you can see and a fun toy to have, I'm ready to move on to my next German classic and need the garage space. Feel free to contact me with questions or requests.
